NEWS: THE HAPPINESS OF THE KATAKURIS TURNS BLU...

A gentle reminder, one of our all-time favourite films is coming to Blu-ray this June, and as you've probably guessed, it's none other than Takashi Miike's deliriously deranged zombie musical, The Happiness of the Katakuris. The prolific director of shocking hits Audition and Ichi the Killer (amongst so many others) is responsible for this quirky delight, a curious blend of The Sound of Music, The Quiet Family and Dawn of the Dead!

The Katakuris are a family trying to run a peaceful country inn but with a lack of guests there is much excitement for their first visitor, until they wind up dead! As each guest dies in strange circumstances the family agree to hide the bodies, but will the cover-ups come back to haunt them...

In The Happiness of the Katakuris scenes of grotesque stop motion animation, surreal musical numbers and ravenous (goofy) zombies combine to make one of the finest horror-comedies ever made.

The Happiness of the Katakuris will be released in the UK courtesy of Arrow Films on DVD and Blu-ray on June 22, 2015. Trust us, if you haven't already seen it, you need this movie in your life. It's a riot.
