TRAILER: SPLIT

If there is one man who deserves a break right now, it is surely M. Night Shyamalan. After shocking audiences with The Sixth Sense and following it up with arguably his best film, Unbreakable, Shyamalan had another big success (though not quite as satisfying) with Mel Gibson and Signs. Oh, how things have changed.

The Village was less popular with critics but there was a lot to love as well. The Lady in the Water was disappointing, The Happening was dreadful, The Last Airbender was a mistake and After Earth was just... no. We've yet to see The Visit here at TwistedWing but positive word of mouth suggests that Shyamalan is on the up. Having said that, directing a collaboration with the Wayans Brothers would have been a step in the right direction, so...

Anyhoo, Spilt does have one rather seductive trick up its sleeve. James McAvoy. James McAvoy as 23 different personalities. He plays Kevin, and Kevin is a little messed up. In fact, he is so messed up, he finds himself compelled to abduct three teenage girls. And if 23 personalities isn't enough, as they are held captive, a final personality (The Beast) begins to materialise.

Check out the second trailer below. This looks like Shyamalan has returned to what he does best. We certainly hope so at least. It's not just Shyamalan who needs a hit, we are all praying he has one too. Split is released in the U.K. on January 20, 2017.
