NEWS: THE VOID - HELP THEM MAKE SOME MONSTERS!

The Void is an original horror film from writer/director team Steven Kostanski and Jeremy Gillespie. Best known for their work as part of the Astron-6 collective (MANBORG, FATHER'S DAY), they are also design and FX veterans of major Hollywood productions (PACIFIC RIM, ROBOCOP, NBC's HANNIBAL).

"With this project we are pooling over ten years of experience to conjure up a terrifying film that will combine the aesthetic attitude of modern horror cinema as it emerged in the 1970s with the splatter and sophisticated practical special effects that ruled the creature features of the 1980s and early 90s. But make no mistake, unlike MANBORG and FATHER'S DAY, this time we aren't joking around. We are committed to introducing audiences to a unique horror-mythology." - Steven Kostanski & Jeremy Gillespie

If you are familiar with the making of a seminal creature effects picture like John Carpenter's THE THING, you'll probably know that the film had around 11 months of prep for that film's wide array of extraordinary monsters (and FX artist Rob Bottin was still diagnosed with extreme exhaustion). While the film is on track to go to camera this summer, we don't have the luxury of a generous schedule, and that is why we are turning to crowd-funding in order to raise the funds required to commence production on our creatures immediately.

We are setting a high bar for ourselves and drawing inspiration from the work of seminal films such as THE FLY (FX by Chris Walas) and THE BLOB '88 (FX by Tony Gardner), as well as famed artists and designers like H.R. Giger (ALIEN) and Masahiro Ito (SILENT HILL), but we are confident that if we are afforded the opportunity to start our builds early, we can make good on this ambition.

If you would like to contribute to the production you can find all the information you need at the link below. There are perks in it of course, and don't forget, you'll be part of the filmmaking team. Sound like fun? Check out the concept trailer below, the rest is up to you. Either way, we'll be following the progress of The Void at Twistedwing.
