INTERVIEW: PAUL TANTER

Last month we brought you a review of Paul Tanter's latest feature The Fall Of The Essex Boys, charting the rise and violent fall of the notorious gang which ended with the triple murder of Tony Tucker (38), Patrick Tate (37) and Craig Rolfe (26), shot dead in a Range Rover down a small farm track in Rettendon.

Hot on its heels, the director agreed to an interview in which he tells us why we needed yet another film about the gruesome murders. He also discusses the case, explains how he feels about being labelled the poor man's Guy Richie, chews the fat over football hooliganism, the demise of Wimbledon FC, that overenthusiastic voice-over, his influences, upcoming projects and - last but not least - his favourite films from world cinema.
