“Prom nights aren’t quite the same in the UK. A limousine
cruising the streets of Kettering is a bit rubbish, and looks completely
ridiculous, so it’s hard to get excited about any film that bangs on about such a joyless event. Luckily,
in Gregg Bishop’s movie, on the night of the big High-School Prom the dead rise
to eat the living, and the only people who can stop them are the losers who
couldn't get dates to the dance. It's not set in Kettering, either.
Dance Of The Dead won’t win any awards, but the characters
are likeable (even if the PE teacher is hard to swallow), there’s some humour
to be found, while a plentiful supply of zombie action will please the gore
hounds. The script offers up the odd surprisingly intelligent moment or two,
the special effects are low budget but effective, and as a whole it rates as
