Whatever your stance on suicide, Eric Steel’s methods of obtaining his information remain somewhat questionable. Did he lie to the Golden Gate committee about what his crew were filming, and when he interviewed the family members of those who jumped, did he tell them that they had footage of their suicides? If you listen to a God-loving relation to one of the dead then it's pretty clear he didn't. Regardless, The Bridge is one of the most powerful and controversial documentaries in recent memory, and proves beyond doubt that people suffer largely unnoticed while the rest of the world goes about its business – unmissable.” DW
