Patrick (Vincent Cassel), a psychotherapist sick to death of listening to the banalities of people’s problems whilst pretending to care, picks up sociopath Remy (Olivier Barthelemy), who has just assaulted his mother, and the two quickly form a friendship.
Manipulating each other during their violent road trip, seeking retribution for all the suffering they’ve had to endure in their lifetimes, Remy decides that the real answers to his problems will be found in Ireland, where he dreams he will assume the mantle of a redheaded messiah…
This is the first feature film by Romain Gavras, director of M.I.A's controversial 'Born Free' music video, in which armed men round up redheaded teenage boys and force them to run through a wasteland littered with landmines.
